Hi! I'm Laura. 

I began my travel journey in 2016 not long after finishing my CF. I knew I wanted adventure, travel, and something new…oh yeah, and to make a ton of money! I searched the internet high and low but could never find a  “How to do Travel Therapy” guide specifically for SLPs. This did not sit well with my type A personality, but I figured the best way to learn was by doing, so I did! 

 

With my pieced together knowledge I set out on the road for a life of adventure and excitement! I found the adventure and excitement but I also found cancelled contracts, sketchy facilities, not so honest recruiters, and housing scams. I worked in every setting I could and traveled to as many places possible to make the most out of my travel career. 

After traveling for years and mentoring numerous travel SLPs along the way, I decided to create what I needed when I began this travel adventure; a place to learn all about travel speech therapy! We’re not travel nurses, travel OTs or travel PTs. While parts of our journey may be similar to other healthcare travelers, some parts are not! I wanted a place where SLPs could connect, learn, and grow in their travel journeys. 

When it comes to being a travel SLP It hasn't always been easy, but it has definitely been worth it! I love the experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met and the ways that I’ve grown as a clinician and person. I don’t know it all, but I certainly know a lot about being a travel SLP.
